Paula McGuiness Memorial Nursing Scholarship

The Paula McGuiness Memorial Nursing Scholarship is funded through the generosity from grateful patients, the community at large and our colleagues to honor Paula McGuiness for her leadership and contributions to St. Joseph’s Hospitals, this scholarship provides financial assistance to a team member who is pursuing an educational degree within nursing while enhancing their career at St. Joseph’s Hospitals.

Paula began her career at St. Joseph’s Hospital in 1972 as an operating room nurse and went on to lead major initiatives including Surgical Services, the Open Heart program, and the Same Day Surgery Center. She later served as chief operating officer of St. Joseph’s Hospital–North and played a key role in developing St. Joseph’s Hospital–South, retiring in 2020 after 48 years of service.
